Artist's Description
I wanted to give the waves a sense of movement with simple but defined swirling brushstrokes as well as blur the shoreline of where water meets land. I wanted the island/land to almost seem to be birthed from the water. The clouds needed to have a similar simplicity to them as well and I blended the sky into the swirls of the water and land by giving it a subtle curve as well. Overall this was a very fun piece to create and I was very pleased with the outcome!

I have been creating art for 20+ years in Southern Indiana using graphite pencils, colored pencils, acrylic paint, and watercolor. A large majority of my artwork depicts nature. I do not think that an artist needs to constrain his/herself to only one style of art or medium type. Ultimately, it is the act of creating something that the artists finds pleasing and then sharing that with others that is truly art. I find it sad that artists segregate themselves into groups that are intolerant of changes.
