Valentine's Day is celebrated around the world. It's origins are rooted in Roman fertility rituals and, as an attempt to root out pagan rituals, was deemed Saint Valentine's Day after a Catholic martyr named Saint Valentine. Although, there is much debate about which St. Valentine this holiday was named for.
Regardless, the holiday has been associated with romance and love for a very long time. Pink roses when given to someone symbolize gentleness and admiration.
