1st in the Barnyard series. A special request from a friend, who wanted a series of farm animals reminescent of Salvadore Dali. Dali inspired my early art in school when I was experimenting with surrealism, and continues to be an inspiration in much of my art to this day. This series was a lot of fun and I imagine a whole nursery or classroom done in this series would be a lot of fun to be in!
I have been creating art for 20+ years in Southern Indiana using graphite pencils, colored pencils, acrylic paint, and watercolor. A large majority of my artwork depicts nature. I do not think that an artist needs to constrain his/herself to only one style of art or medium type. Ultimately, it is the act of creating something that the artists finds pleasing and then sharing that with others that is truly art. I find it sad that artists segregate themselves into groups that are intolerant of changes. With that said, having been taught traditional and purist art techniques, I have chosen to learn from that and go a different direction.
