Harlequin Lady Beetles Canvas Print

Also known as Halloween Ladybugs, ladybirds, asian beetles, or ladybugs. The depicted variety is of of the f. spectabilis species. Lady beetles are typicaly red or orange with black spots, however, there are some that are black with red or orange spots (depicted). Depending on the sub-species spots range in number from 0 to 22! These insects feed on mostly aphids or mites, although some sub-species have been known to damage plants.

I have been creating art for 20+ years in Southern Indiana using graphite pencils, colored pencils, acrylic paint, and watercolor. A large majority of my artwork depicts nature. I do not think that an artist needs to constrain his/herself to only one style of art or medium type. Ultimately, it is the act of creating something that the artists finds pleasing and then sharing that with others that is truly art. I find it sad that artists segregate themselves into groups that are intolerant of changes. With that said, having been taught traditional and purist art techniques, I have chosen to learn from that and go a different direction.
