Artist's Description
Horse's have some of the largest eyes of land mammals. They are different from human eyes in many ways, including their horizontal pupils, which allows the horse to see a larger field of vision. A horse can see 180 degrees on each side, with blind areas only directly in front of and behind themselves. As prey animals, this allows them to see an approaching predator from virtually any direction. They have long eyelashes to keep debris out of their eye and long whisker hairs around the eyes to help sense objects in the dark before it contacts the eye. Horses also have a lock of hair on their head called a forelock that acts as a fly deterrent.
When I look into the eyes of my horses, I see kind brave souls. Once you gain the trust of a horse they will never forget you. Betray that trust and it is hard to get back.

I have been described as a woman of many interests, talents, and hobbies. My artwork reflects my...
