Artist's Description

If you ever need to feel unconditional love and friendship, gaze into the eyes of a dog. Canines have a third eyelid called a nictating membrane, that moves horizontally across the eye to remove debris from the eye. Dogs have 20/75 vision (compared to humans' 20/20), meaning they can't see details as well. However, the presence of more rods in their retinas mean that dogs can see better in the dark compared to humans. Canine eyes have cells that are similar to that of color blind individuals, therefore they can distinguish between blue and yellow better than green and red.
